AniMail Online Rental Service

Introduction

AniMail is MIT Anime's new service to bring anime faster and more conveniently to its members. The largest private anime library in the United States can now be delivered straight to your door! Members may simply request any of our anime or manga by e-mail or through this form, and we will send it to you via the Institute's indepartmental mailing system.

This service comes absolutely free of charge to any current card-carrying club members with an on-campus address. Not a member yet? Joining-- and gaining access our extensive collection-- is $5 a semester with a refundable flat-rate $10 deposit.

How does it work?

AniMail works simply as a convenient add-on to our existing lending and checkout system. Simply e-mail anime-library@mit.edu or fill out the request form below with your name, campus address, and a list of items you would like to see. We will mail or hand-deliver your items to your location.

Each item will be shipped in our custom mailers, which are labelled with removable address cards, one with your address in to "To" slot and one with our office address in the "Return Address" slot. When you finish with our items, simply swap the two address cards such that your address is the return address, and drop your items off in an MIT interdepartmental mailbox (NOT United States Postal Service! no postage required).

You may also return items with mailers during office hours in our office in 50-356 or in person at a showing. Once we receive your items, we will send your next batch of items. If you lose your AniMail mailers, you may still drop them off in a protected envelope to:

MIT Anime Club
Room 50-356

Rules

General library rules apply, including due dates (one month from date of request) and item limits (five of any type of item may be checked out at any one time). Interdepartmental mailtimes may vary, so if you do not receive your items within a week of mailing, please contact the library at anime-library@mit.edu and we will work to sort it out.

You will be held responsible for loss or damage of any items, which may be deducted from your deposit and cause you to lose your library borrowing privelges. The best way to prevent this is to return items in person, but there should be no issues if you return your items wrapped in the provided mailers and drop them in the MIT interdepartmental mailbox.
