July 11th - Stace, Walden, DeCordova

While trying to contemplate the meaning of life at Walden Pond, our thoughts were rudely interrupted by the roar of the commuter train. We soon learnt that Walden does not live up it to reputation as an isolated patch of forest in the middle of nowhere. What's more, Walden's hero, Henry David Thoreau, was only half an hour's walk - just up the train tracks, which existed back in Thoreau's day - from his parent's home and visited the town of Concord daily. He even had "visitors" daily. Yep, Thoreau was getting laid.

Despite the diappointment, Walden pond itself was beautiful. Stacey couldn't stop humping the statue of Thoreau - she kept mumbling something about the "feeling of a strong, hard, bronze man" pressed against "her smooth skin."
