International Students Office (ISO)

The International Students Office continues to provide services to an increasing number of international students and these students are using the ISO for a wider range of problems. There is a growing trend for individuals to communicate electronically with the ISO and they expect rapid, immediate answers to their inquiries.

ISO has provided support to the Registrar's Office in the implementation of MITSIS and verifying the accuracy of international student data. The Office has also been involved in designing the new Visiting Student category and in developing procedures for its implementation.

The office sponsored two tax workshops and made available all the IRS forms students needed to comply with federal regulations. There is an increased need for services of this type due to the many regulatory changes in Immigration laws currently being introduced in Congress.

ISO has continued to support the Host to International Students Program and together with the Alumni Association held two welcome parties for new international students and a reception for graduating international students, their families and their American host families.
