Why an imported IMAGE appears CROPPED
When FrameMaker imports an image it uses a bitmap to display it on the
screen. This bitmap is just used to represent your graphic, and can be
scaled, rotated, etc. However, the image will often appear to only be
a portion of the actual drawing you are trying to import -- as if a
sizeable portion of the image was somehow cropped off. Do NOT worry
about this. Create the frame to the size you wish your image to be,
and when you print it out you will see that the ENTIRE image is on the
actual printout.
Some things to note:
o When you scale the bitmap, it does retain the actual
proportions the image will have when printed out. This
means that if the bitmap looks too stretched out or too
narrow, your image will as well.
o The inital imported image is the size the image would be
without any scaling -- as if you sent it straight to the
printer.
o If you want to import a plain postscript file, you will not
get an image. You should convert it to espi first:
add gnu
ps2epsi file.ps file.epsi
