Frame may "LOSE" your files (PLEASE READ)

Because of the manner in which FrameMaker interacts with AFS and your
quota, it is possible that you may appear to lose files you are
working on. We recommend the following steps in order to avoid
running into this problem:

	o SAVE FREQUENTLY!

o Check the size of your file after you save, and BEFORE
you close FrameMaker. Just use the command:

		ls -l filename

where filename is the actual name of your file. If the
length of the file is 0, do not panic. You still have a copy
in your frame window. Just save a second time.

o Make sure you have enough free quota while you are working.
Importing an epsi graphic can take up several hundred
Kilobytes of space. You probably want to worry about
including graphics in your document only when you are
	  nearing completion.

o Import graphics by reference, or if you must include them
in your document, then delete the stand along copy of the
	  graphics file afterwards.

o DOUBLE CHECK your files before exiting. Again, until you
actually exit the Frame window all is not lost.

Should you still need space because you are working on your thesis,
then send mail to accounts@mit.edu and ask for a quota increase. Be
sure to mention that you are writing your thesis in Frame. If you
have further questions, please do not hesitate to ask a question about
this in OLC.
