Changing BASIC properties

The basic paragraph formatting options allows you to control the
following:

	Option Meaning
	---------------------------------------------------------
First The distance from the column edge
that the first line of a paragraph
				should be indented

Left The distance from the column edge
				that entire paragraph should be
				indented

Right The distance from the right edge
of the column that a paragraph
				should be indented

Alignment A paragraph can be left aligned,
				right aligned, centered,
justified, or left as you type it.

Above The amount of space alloted before
the text of a paragraph. This is
ignored if the below value of the
				previous paragraph is greater.

Below The amount of space to allot after
				a paragraph before beginning the
next paragraph. This is ignored if
the above value from the next
				paragraph is greater.

Line Spacing The standard spacings are 1.0 (single
				spacing), 2.0 (double spacing), and
				1.5 (one-and-a-half spacing), but any
				value can be used here.

Next P Tag This allows you to specify if you
				always want the following paragraph
to have a format of another type.

Tab Stops Clicking on "Edit" will allow you to
modify the tab stops. To add a tab
stop, select "New Tab Stop". Click in
the position box and type the distance
you wish the tab stop to be from the
				left edge of the column.

The alignment option lets you specify
whether the tab stop should be left
				aligned, right aligned, centered, or
				decimal aligned. For decimal
				alignment, you can specify the
character on which to align in the
Decimal Char box. If you are writing
a table of contents, or need tabs that
will include a repeated character or
string out to the next tab stop,
select a Leader of that string.
