How to read NETWORK NEWS

The programs to access Netnews are supported by SIPB, and are in the sipb
locker. To read news, you should type

	add sipb
	rrn

To avoid having to do the "add sipb" every time you log in, you can place the
command

	add sipb

at the start of your ~/.environment file.

There is extensive on-line help available in the On-line Help program. To get
to the information on using Netnews, type the following at the athena% prompt:

	help netnews

There is also documentation available from SIPB; there is a one page document
called "Netnews: A one page guide to the Usenet", and also some information on
Netnews in their Inessential Guide to Athena. The SIPB office is located
right outside the Athena cluster in the Student Center.
