Using ATTACH and detach

To access course software, some unsupported packages, or the home directory of
another user, you can use the 'attach' command. For example:

attach 1.00 software for subject 1.00
	attach sipb SIPB's software
attach myfriend home directory of user 'myfriend'

Usually, when you attach one of these directories to your workstation, it is
placed in the /mit directory. So, for the above examples, you would probably
look for files in the following directories, respectively:

	/mit/1.00
	/mit/sipb
	/mit/myfriend

Course software may vary; ask your instructor or TA for more information.
It is also possible to attach all those lockers with one single command --
actually that form is preferred. Use:

	attach 1.00 sipb myfriend

Of course, you will not be able to read or modify the files of another user
unless he or she has given you access to do so. For more information on
how to do that, check under the Accounts answers on SHARING files.
