SAWFISH CRASHED; or I can't CLICK on anything with the MOUSE cursor

From time to time, sawfish, the default window manager on Athena, may
stop accepting input or crash. This can lead to unfortunate effects,
such as being unable to switch windows, or loss of keyboard or mouse
functionality.

The simplest solution to this problem is to logout and log back in.
If you are unable to log out normally, in Linux, you can press
Ctrl-Alt-Backspace to quit X and consequently log out. If you would
prefer not to do so, or have data you want to keep, though, you will
need to find a way to restart sawfish.

In the case of mouse-clicks not working, you can restart sawfish by
typing:

	pkill sawfish; sawfish &

all on one line.

If your windows stop accepting keyboard input, you can no longer
switch windows, and the console window shows that the "rep" program
crashed, sawfish is no longer running and needs to be started again.
Unfortunately, since keyboard input is no longer being accepted, it is
difficult to do so.

If you are fortunate enough to be able to find the letters that make
up "sawfish" in various visible windows on your screen, you can copy
and paste them into a terminal window to restart sawfish. Otherwise,
you will have to logout and log back in to solve the problem.
