Mission Statement of the MIT Arab Students' Organization
The Arab students of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology
establish the institution of the MIT Arab Students' Organization (ASO)
as a vehicle for the empowerment of all MIT Arab and Arab-American
Students, Faculty and Staff interested in Arab affairs, politics and
culture. We seek to:
Develop in each member of the MIT ASO the
initiative and passion to work for the betterment of their
communities.
Promote development of our members and encourage
professional and social interaction among Arab-American and Arabs in the
US and abroad.
Lead the Arab student movement in the United States by setting the
standard for vision, ability and energy.
Lead the effort to increase the impact of Arab-Americans and Arabs in
Science, Technology and Innovation.
Work with other MIT student groups to overcome ethnic and nationalist
barriers, find common ground and achieve our common objectives.
Actively articulate Arab political causes on campus and define the
terms issues and arguments for the mainstream dialogue.
Educate both the Arab-American and non-Arab communities about Arab
modern achievements, culture, history,identity, and concerns.
Serve our community through volunteerism.
