Saturday, November 6, 2004

Arabian Peninsula

The Trans-Arab Research Institute (TARI) and the MIT ASO are proud to present "Dual Occupations: From the Rule of Force to the Rule of Law in US Middle East Foreign Policy." What does the US support for the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip and the US invasion and occupation of Iraq mean for the Middle East and global order? What are the contours and implications of US imperial goals in the region? What role can we play to replace the rule of force with the rule of law and end unilateralism in US foreign policy?

The event will feature a keynote address by Noam Chomsky, panel discussions, and afternoon workshops on building specific campaigns.

A complete list of speaker biographies and the conference schedule are also available.

The MIT ASO would like to thank the MIT Center for International Studies and the MIT Technology and Culture Forum for co-sponsoring this event.
