Nominations will be accepted through February 23. The award

Nomination Process:
Each year the MIT-ASO Science and Technology Achievement Award, honors an
outstanding Arab individual for significant contributions to any field of
science and technology. Any qualified Arab-American is eligible for the MIT
Arab Student Organization's Science and Technology achievement Award.
Eligibility includes members/alumni and non-members/alumni of MIT. We
interpret science and technology in the broadest sense to include field that
methodically contributes to the well being of humanity through the
processes of learning, understanding and knowledge.
Qualification:
- Arab with US citizenship or US Permanent residence.
- Under 35.
- achievement in any relevant field of knowledge.
- CV must prove significant scientific and technical contributions.
Criteria for nominations:
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to science and technology.
- Established credibilty as potential leader in field or community.
- Nominee has committed to continue contributing to his/her field.
- Special individual attributes that qualify the nominee for the award
- Current ASO officers must forfeit any promised financial returns from the awards to qualify.
Timeline of events:
1. January 3 - February 23 - Nominations accepted. Nominations are
completed by
filling the attached form and emailing it to the ASO officers list
arab-comm@mit.edu
2. February 23 - March 16- The MIT ASO and a panel of MIT Professors
will select
the Award winner.
3. March 16 - Winners is notified.
4. April 14 - The winner is formally announced. The national award
ceremony
takes place. Winner's photo and bio are published.
