LTC Timothy Hall

Lieutenant Colonel Timothy J. Hall holds a bachelor of science degree in Systems in Engineering (Operations Research) from the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York, and a master of science degree in Engineering Management from the Missouri University of Science and Technology. He received a Regular Army Commission in the Corps of Engineers in June 1991. His military education includes the Engineer Officer Basic Course, Engineer Officer Advanced Course, Combined Arms Services and Staff School, and the Command and General Staff College. His previous assignments include Sapper Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, and Battalion Assistant Operations Officer in the 326th Engineer Battalion (Air Assault), FT Campbell, Kentucky; Battalion Assistant Operations Officer and Commander, Company C, 2d Engineer Battalion (Combat) (Mechanized), Camp Castle, Republic of Korea; Assistant Brigade Engineer Observer Controller, Engineer Company/Task Force Engineer Observer Controller and Deputy Chief of Plans and Exercises, Combat Maneuver Training Center, Hohenfels, Germany; Senior Observer/Controller Team Chief and Operations Officer, 3rd Battalion (Training Support) (Engineer), 315th Regiment, New Cumberland, Pennsylvania; Headquarters Commandant, 3d Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia and Baghdad, Iraq; Executive Officer, Special Troops Battalion, 3d Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia and Baghdad, Iraq; Executive Officer, 92d Engineer Combat Battalion (Heavy), Fort Stewart, Georgia and Balad, Iraq; and Operations Officer, 92d Engineer Combat Battalion (Heavy), Fort Stewart, Georgia.  His awards include The Bronze Star Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Meritorious Service Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster; the Army Achievement Medal with Two Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal; the Iraq Campaign Medal; Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals; Korean Defense Service Medal; Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal; Army Service Ribbon, and the Overseas Service Ribbon 5th Award.

MSG Curtis Neal
MSG Curtis Neal joined the Paul Revere Battalion in August of 2006. He serves as the battalion’s Senior Military Instructor.  He is an Active Duty NCO who has completed over 21 years of active service. He has served in leadership positions ranging from Combat Engineer Specialist, Senior Drill Sergeant, Senior Platoon Observer/ Controller Trainer, to his current position as Senior Military Instructor for the Paul Revere Battalion.

His overseas assignments include two tours of duty in Germany, and his state side assignments include Fort Hood, TX; Fort Jackson, SC; Fort Lewis, WA; and Fort Leonard Wood, MO.

MSG Neal's military education includes attendance at the Maintenance Management Course, Master Divers Trainer Course, Observer Training Course, Combat Lifesavers Course, Instructor Course, Senior Instructor Course., Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Drill Sergeant School, Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course, and the First Sergeant Course.

MSG Neal's awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the Southwest Asia Service Medal, the Kuwait Liberation Medal, the Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, the Sergeant Audie Murphy Award, the Engineer Bronze Order of the Fleury Medal, and the Driver Mechanic Badge.

CPT Mark A. Chaney
Captain Mark A. Chaney assumed his present position as Assistant Professor of Military Science and Enrollment Officer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in March 2007.  Upon graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, in 1999 he received a commission as an Infantry officer.  He served six years on Active Duty, and is currently an officer in the Massachusetts Army National Guard.

Captain Chaney has served in several leadership and instructing positions throughout his career.  They include:  Rifle Platoon Leader, B Company, 1st Battalion, 15th Infantry; Heavy Mortar Platoon Leader; Battalion Adjutant; and Rifle Company Executive Officer, each with the 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Benning, Georgia.  His last Active Duty assignment was as an Academic Instructor and Tactical Officer at the Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning.  In addition to his duties at MIT, he is currently the Senior Tactical Officer for the Massachusetts Army National Guard Officer Candidate School (OCS) at Camp Edwards, Massachusetts.

Captain Chaney holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Military Academy.  He is a graduate of the US Army Infantry Captains’ Career Course, the Cadet Command Faculty Development Course, and several other Army leadership courses and schools.  He has deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (Kuwait), Operation Inspired Gambit (Pakistan), and Operation Iraqi Freedom (Iraq).

His military decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart Medal, the Army Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Army Achievement Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the National Defense Service Medal with one bronze star, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals, and the Presidential Unit Citation.  Captain Chaney has earned the Combat Infantryman’s Badge and the Parachutist’s Badge.

Captain David Gowel
Captain Dave Gowel joined the Paul Revere Battalion in April 2007.  He serves as an Assistant Professor of Military Science responsible for instructing the Military Science III class.

Captain Gowel graduated from the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY in 2002 with a BS in Economics.  Upon graduation he attended the Armor Officer Basic Course and Ranger School in Ft. Benning, GA prior to serving as a platoon leader in Iraq and company executive officer in Baumholder, Germany with the 2nd Brigade, 1st Armored Division.  Prior to leaving Germany, CPT Gowel served as the Deputy Chief of the Executive Services Division for United States Army Europe (USAREUR) Headquarters in Heidelberg, Germany and recently graduated from the Maneuver Captains’ Career Course (MCCC) in Ft. Knox, KY.  He is currently earning his Masters Degree in Management at Harvard University.

Captain Gowel’s decorations include the Army Commendation Medal (first oak leaf cluster), Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (first oak leaf cluster), the Presidential Unit Citation and the Ranger Tab.

SFC Kazimir Karwowski
SFC Kazimir Karwowski joined the Paul Revere Battalion in February of 2007. He serves as the battalion’s Military Training Instructor.  He has been in the U.S. Army for 18 years and has served in every enlisted position in an Infantry Rifle Company.  SFC Karwowski’s most recent assignment was with the 172nd Stryker Brigade in Alaska, where he served as a platoon sergeant both in Alaska and Iraq. 

SFC Karwowski has been stationed in Bamberg, Germany; Ft. Campbell, KY; Ft. Drum, NY; The Northern Warfare Training Center (NWTC), AK; Ft. Wainwright, AK; and Ft. Richardson, AK.

SFC Karwowski has been on numerous training and operational deployments including, Operation Desert Storm (Iraq’91), Operation Restore Hope (Mogadishu, Somalia’93), Operation Uphold Democracy (Haiti ’94), IFOR/SFOR (Bosnia’97-98), and Operation Iraqi Freedom IV (Iraq ’05-06).  He climbed Mt. McKinley as a member of the Northern Warfare Training Center’s Army Mountaineering Team, where he served as a skiing and mountaineering instructor.

SFC Karwowski has received numerous awards and decorations.  He holds both an Associates and Bachelors degree from Thomas Edison State College and intends on pursing a Masters in Management in the future.

SFC Karwowski enjoys spending his off time with his family. He is an avid skier and when not with his family he coaches and teaches the sport.

Norman Michaud
Norman Michaud joined the Paul Revere Battalion in August of 2005. He serves as the battalion’s Human Resource Assistant.

He is a graduate of Providence College, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts, and is a former noncommissioned officer of the United States Army.  Mr. Michaud’s military education includes 13B Field Artilleryman Course, Ft Sill, OK, 71L Administrative Specialist Course, Ft. Jackson, SC, Drill Sergeant School and Infantry Mortarman Platoon Officer’s Course, Ft. Benning, GA, and Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course, Ft Benjamin Harrison, IN.

Prior to the Paul Revere Battalion, Mr. Michaud worked for the Army ROTC at Providence College.  Other assignments include the Defense Mapping School, Ft. Belvoir, VA, Headquarters, Berlin Brigade, Berlin, Germany, and as a Drill Sergeant, Infantry School, Ft Benning, GA.  Mr. Michaud retired from active duty in May of 1997, after 24 years of service.

His decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Defense Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal and Drill Sergeant Badge

Lisa Morin
Lisa Morin joined the Paul Revere Battalion in January of 2008. She serves as the Battalion’s Senior Administrative Assistant.

She holds a BS in Criminal Justice from Stonehill College. Prior to the Paul Revere Battalion, Mrs. Morin served in administrative positions in finance and non-profit areas.

Captain Luke Devlin (USAR)
Captain Luke Devlin joined the Paul Revere Battalion in January 2008.  He serves as an Assistant Professor of Military Science responsible for instructing the Military Science I class.

Captain Devlin graduated from the Western New England College, Springfield, MA in 2002 with a BS in Criminal Justice.  Upon graduation he attended the Armor Officer Basic Course at Fort Knox, KY.  CPT Devlin was then assigned as a Tank Platoon Leader in the 3rd Squadron 7th Cavalry of the 3rd Infantry Division.  He was then promoted to a Scout platoon Leader and later to a Troop Executive Officer in the 3rd Squadron 7th Cavalry. CPT Devlin deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003 and 2005. His next assignment was as a program manager for the 94th Regional Readiness Command at Fort Devens, MA.  He is currently working in the Financial Services Industry in the Greater Boston Area.

Captain Devlin’s decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (one oak leaf cluster) Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Presidential Unit Citation. He has earned the Parachutists Badge, Air Assault Badge and the Combat Action Badge.

Captain Alex Gallo (USAR)
Captain Alex Gallo graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2001. He served as an Infantry officer in 2nd Brigade, 1st Infantry Division from 2002-2006. Captain Gallo deployed with the First Infantry Division for a peacekeeping tour in Kosovo in 2002 and a combat tour in Iraq in 2004. During his tour in Iraq, Captain Gallo earned the Combat Infantrymans' Badge and the Bronze Star Medal. Currently, Captain Gallo is a Masters in Public Policy candidate at Havard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government and teaches the MS IV Army ROTC students at MIT.

Captain Rob McMahon (USAR)
Captain Rob McMahon joined the Paul Revere Battalion in January 2008.  He serves as an Assistant Professor of Military Science responsible for instructing the Military Science II class

Captain McMahon graduated from the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY in 2002 with a BS in Electrical Engineering.  Upon graduation he attended the Engineer Officer Basic Course in Ft. Leonard Wood, MO.  He then served as a platoon leader in Iraq, as a company executive officer in Giessen, Germany, and as a Brigade Construction Manager in Iraq with the 1st Brigade, 1st Armored Division.  CPT McMahon deployed to Baghdad and Karbala, Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom 1, and deployed to Tal Afar and Ramadi, Iraq during OIF 05-07.  CPT McMahon left active duty in June 2002, and is now in the Army Reserve.  He is currently a full time student earning his MBA at MIT Sloan

Captain McMahon’s decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (second oak leaf cluster), Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Presidential Unit Citation, Army Meritorious Unit Commendation, and the Air Assault Badge.
