(Tech Talk 6/2/1999)
A series of color photographs shot in Colombia by graduate student Rich Fletcher took first prize in the competition for the 1999 Harold and Arlene Schnitzer Prize in the Visual Arts while graduate student Matthew Hollingworth's photographs of the timberline landscape of California's High Sierras earned him second place. Junior Vince Carballo took third prize for works in pastel and charcoal. In addition to receiving monetary prizes, the winners¹ names are added to a plaque installed on the wall of the Wiesner Student Art Gallery (2nd floor, Stratton Student Center). An exhibition of works by the winning artists can be seen at the Wiesner Gallery through June 10, 1999.
