Greece 2000, by earth, atmospheric, and planetary sciences graduate student Marin K. Clark, winner of the 2001 Harold and Arlene Schnitzer Prize in the Visual Arts. "Most of these photographs are taken from... the habitual perspective of my work as a geologist -- looking down on the world as if it were a map," said Ms. Clark in her artist's statement. "There is a fluidity and cadence when viewed from above that would appear as chaos to an observer on the ground," she continued. An exhibition of works by the three Schnitzer Prize winners is on view at the Wiesner Student Art Gallery on the second floor of the Stratton Student Center through June 30, 2001.
