Publications and Deadlines
Arts Communication makes information on MIT arts programs and events available through the publications listed below. Representatives from MIT groups, organizations and arts presenters (aka "ArtsNet") can submit information for these publications; instructions and deadlines are also listed below.
MIT Event Calendar
The most complete and up-to-date information on MIT arts events can be found on the on-line, scrolling MIT Arts Events Calendar or the main MIT Events Calendar.
Month-at-a-glance arts calendar
Arts Communication produces a monthly calendar of MIT arts events. This "month-at-a-glance" calendar is available at campus newsstands on the Wednesday nearest the first of the month, except during MIT's Independent Activities Period (IAP) in January and during the summer months. (Tech Talk article about Arts Calendars)
The month-at-a-glance calendar is also reproduced as white "poster" pages (8 1/2 x 14") which are distributed on campus and mailed to select locations and individuals off-campus.
To receive copies of Tech Talk's month-at-a-glance calendar, contact Lynn Heinemann at heine[at]media.mit.edu with your complete mailing address.
Deadline
~2 weeks before publication date (the first of the month).
Media Arts Calendar
MIT arts event information is published in our Media Arts Calendar, brief calendar listings of arts performances and exhibitions mailed monthly to the Boston-area media (such as the Thursday Boston Globe Calendar) for inclusion in event listings. The media calendar is also mailed to on-campus publicity sources such as The Tech and various departmental calendars and newsletters.
Deadline
The 25th of the month prior to the mail date (the first of the month).
