Media Arts
MIT's Media Lab is a world-renowned
center of media-related research. Students and faculty at the Lab explore and develop convergent
communications technology through pioneering work in such disciplines as computer graphics,
design, interactive cinema, narrative, cognition and learning, electronic music and holography.
The Program
in Comparative Media Studies (CMS) offers both
Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees. The undergraduate
major is an interdisciplinary program that is now the largest
undergraduate major in the humanities at MIT. Many students also
choose to pursue a joint degree in Humanities
and Engineering (Course 21E)
through CMS.
