Gender Forum did not respond, so we're punting their form. Isshinryu Karate-do matt@lindy.mit.edu Their officer election date is before Reg day, which might be a problem for meeting quorum. PHILIP will ask them to extend their possible officer election dates so it includes early Fall semester. Then we'll recognize them. PHILIP will send reminders to Prodemocracy TV and MIT Students for Israel one more time. ** New New Groups Recognitions Delta Sigma Theta Sorority emiranda@wellesley.edu JEN CHUNG will email them to check if they really have enough MIT students and let them know that their application is pending. JEN will also check with Tracy regarding what to do with all these new sororities. WAVE (Women Athletes and Volleyball Enthusiasts) jyoo@mit.edu Although their information seems pretty old and might predate the moratorium, ALVAR will still send them an email regarding the moratorium on club sports. Falun Dafa Club stevie@mit.edu Lots of holes in their constitution. JEN YOON will contact them and ask them to fix the holes. World's Best Hovercraft Club neubjr@mit.edu Lots of holes in their constitution, although it was pretty detailed and humorous. 5/50% is wrong. They also have typos and JON will deal to get those fixed. Alliance for Global Sustainability Student Community arnico@mit.edu Unclear statement of purpose (do they overlap with SAVE?) Are they a chapter or are they the Alliance itself? Also, lots of holes in their constitution. They should come to office hours and explain what they intend to do. ALVAR will deal. ** GBM last minute fixes We add some info to Alvar's HTML slide presentation. We need to let groups know about student center locks, ASADB, SMAC space. Groups that do not have SMAC space should email JEN YOON with requests, to be evaluated case-by-case. Groups that have space should not resubmit...we will be doing rerooming next year. SUSAN should talk to Andrea about locks before the GBM. Funding questions should be sent to funds@mit.edu, not Laurie, simply because she will be going on maternity leave soon. We will inform the student groups of her assistant's name and email address, too. Treasurer training dates. UA Finboard and LEF deadlines. ALVAR will make an announcement about small-body meetings. JON needs to print out a list of currently-recognized groups and recently derecognized groups to check off the groups that show up. The filenames are new_recognized_groups and noconst. ** ASA Database Real Soon Now, we will send asa-exec@mit.edu an email and everyone should take a REAL CLOSE LOOK at the mockup web pages and send us ideas for more features. Activity Recognition Classes: 1 - Full Recognition 2 - Dormcon/IFC/FSILG living groups 3 - Departmental 4 - Sports Council How about the possibility of one more for social groups/non-residential sororities and so on? JEN CHUNG will check with TRACY about this. Activity Recognition Status: - Full Recognition - Provisional Recognition - Suspended - Derecognized ** Bulletin Boards Nothing interesting happened to bulletin boards this fortnight. ** Sports Monday 9th April 2001, 3pm, hopefully in W20-400, there will be another Athletics meeting discussing the funding for athletics group and the proposed student advisory board for club sports. We want to make sure the board has a really strong influence on funding and recognition issues, even though it is not a governmental board per se. Athletics-recognized Club Sports would not have to go to GBMs nor come to ASA for recognition. The only interaction with these sports will be logistics, through the ASA database. ** Money PHILIP still needs to deal with this!!! Holler at PHILIP if you don't see a budget emailed out by wednesday. ** Locks CAC is looking for a secure place to put a server. ** Next meeting Apr 15, 2pm (office hours) 3pm (meeting)
