ASA - Association of Student Activities

Group Privileges

Full-Recognition

Consider applying for full recognition if you want to start a new student group which will be independently run from other campus groups; most importantly, the group must be unique and have a purpose that cannot be fulfilled by other existing student groups. Full ASA recognition is the hardest to obtain, but also gives full access to Student Activities resources.

Full Recognition with a funding restriction is a subcategory of this type. If the ASA feels that a student group should be granted full recognition but should also be able to function without funding, this type of recognition will be granted. The funding restriction means that a group cannot apply to the UA Finboard or the GSC Funding Board; however, groups with funding restrictions can still apply to LEF/ARCARDE.

Note that if the ASA Board feels you may fit another activity type better, we will make that recommendation.
