On the night of 093.101, Jenny is awakened when her computer notes that it has lost the signal from the CICADA. She reviews the video and sees some sort of ray or giant worm coming up from the bottom to grab the machine before it stops transmitting. Not telling anyone, she downloads new CICADA software and starts working on a trap for the beast.
In the morning she tells Pilot that they're going to capture a Progenitor. Pilot wants to know why Jenny didn't wake them up, since she obviously noticed what was going on. She says the trap wasn't ready. Pilot is also worried about himself and the plane and the world, something isn't right there. Jenny agrees to look at the plane, but finds nothing wrong with it. She's not really very sympathetic.
Marshall Lightfoot arrives around midday on 094, with a child protection officer, one Dr. Emile Hayden, in tow. Jenny insists she has more important things to do than talk to them, but gives in eventually. Dr. Hayden asks her questions, recording her answers on his larger than normal belt computer (with external microphone). Jenny finally breaks and tells them that they don't understand, she gives the orders and everyone else does what she wants. They give up and leave.
Pilot and Regina are worried about how Jenny is behaving, and go talk to her. She talks about capturing progenitors or aborigines. They interrogate her about her latest medicine shipment, which was delivered by a passing GEO patrolman from the clinic in Atlantis, ordered through the drunken doctor. Jenny talks about her Mission from God to capture an aborigine.
"Who are you talking to?"
"God."
"Does he answer?"
"Of course he answers!"
- Whitney and Jenny
Whitney, Regina, and Pilot go into Atlantis, to the clinic. They are told that Doc Johnson isn't there, but a little asking around brings them back to the clinic, and they sneak Pilot's remote in. He finds the Doc passed out, and pokes him to consciousness. Then he steals the Doc's booze and lures him out to the others for some questioning. They dunk him to try to sober him up, and find out that he doesn't remember Jenny's latest prescription, although he does remember ordering medicine for a dangerous psychotic a couple of months before. He's left with the impression that Whitney is that psychotic.
They call back to Coot, who received the most recent medicine, and he tells them it was dropped off by a tall blonde patrolman. They check up with the Marshall and she confirms, after a few hours. He got the medicine from Dr. Meihi at the clinic.
"What do you want? I'm deboning kelp!" - Coot
They go back and put this all in front of Jenny, who pulls an all nighter hacking with her new software. She finds that the Doc's mail is all handled by others at the clinic, and Dr. Meihi did in fact handle her medicine. She finds out that Maas Biotechnic, which makes the drug, has this drug flagged for special handling (and removes that flag while she places a new prescription order). She also hacks Dr. Meihi's deleted mail and finds fragments instructing her to add radioactive tracing isotopes to Jenny's prescription.
The next day, 095, Jenny stops taking her drugs. They analyze the drugs and find that the anti-psychotic has been cut with a couple of drugs that cause over confidence and hallucinations. Jenny says it's lucky she has been strong and resisted these drugs. The team also learns that Maas is a wholly owned subsidiary of Biogene.
By 099, the new pills have arrived, and Jenny is mostly back to normal. She claims not to remember what happened, but spends all day cleaning Pilot's CICADA and generally being useful. She also finds a new set of bugs and polices them up. Dr. Hayden is discovered to be an empty identity - it gets mail and so on, but there isn't a real person there, it's a front for some sort of GEO intelligence agency.
