Overview of the Award Scoring System AFOTYA Standings
...The IM Affiliation of the Year Award is given to those affiliations who may not have the best athletes, but are the most responsible, reliable, and active participants throughout the MIT Intramural community... The Intramural Executive Committee has reinstated the competition for the IM Affiliation of the Year Award. The last time this award was presented was in May of the 2001-2002 academic year. The 2006-2007 AFOTY Award will be presented to the winning affiliations in May at the end of the 2007 spring semester. There are 3 divisions of competition - each of an approximate equal number of affiliations - divided by affiliation size: small, medium, and large. The small division is for affiliations with 40 or less members; the medium division is for affiliations with 41 to 99 members; and the large division is for affiliations with 100 or more members. There will be a total of 4 winning affiliations: the overall champion (best score from all divisions) plus three division winners. The overall champion will be ineligible to win a division award.
