JEFF MA

Jeff Ma has risen through the ranks of MIT water polo unlike any other player in the program's history. He was a four-year player, a three-year letter winner, a captain his senior year, and served as assistant coach for three years. Jeff completed the cycle by replacing John Benedick as head coach of the Engineers five years ago.

After an immensely successful inaugural campaign, Ma has already established himself as a coach to be reckoned with, earning Division III East Coach of the Year honors in 1997.

Ma is a 1994 graduate of MIT with a degree in mechanical engineering. His love of water polo didn't abate after graduation and he has been extremely active in the sport both within and outside MIT.

While the head coac=h of the Wellesley College water polo team, Ma's squad qualified for the Division III Collegiate Nationals in 1996. He coached the only East Coast Division III All-America in 1997.

Jeff has been a coach or staff member at two national age group development camps for boys in Colorado Springs. He is currently a coach in the U.S. Olympic Development program as well as head coach for the MIT women's water polo club program.
