MIT water polo played a significant part of Institute history on September 25, 2002, becoming the first collegiate team to use the Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center as its home venue. The Engineers defeated Ivy League-foe Brown University on opening night, 7-6. The win also marked MIT's first home win ever against the Bears.
The Engineers closed the season ranked No. 4 in the nation for Division III, and ninth in the country in the Collegiate Water Polo Association rankings, which includes teams from all divisions.
Led by All-Tournament first team selection Jaime Brady, MIT finished in second place at the Division III Eastern Championship. Dan Jacobs earned second team honors at the tournament.
Paving the way for Tech's success by leading the squad in both goals and steals, Jaime Brady earns first team All-America accolades by the American Water Polo Coaches Association.
