allows the user to scan printed pages or image files, converts them to text and reads them out loud to the user. Kurzweil 3000 also has additional study tools such as highlighting, notetaking, reading the web, dictionary and thesaurus. - Quicktionary Reading Pen and QuickLink Pen are scanning pens that can capture print material, convert it to digital format and read some items out loud.
Digital Talking Book Readers
- Victor Reader Vibe and Victor Reader Stream players allow users to listen to DAISY (Digital Talking Book format) books and MP3s. The Vibe is a CD player for digital books.
- Maestro PDA and GPS device ("Trekker") with speech output provides blind users with a handheld PDA device that includes a DAISY book player.
