- Kurzweil 1000 and 3000 software
allows the user to scan printed pages or image files, converts them to text and reads them out loud to the user. Kurzweil 3000 also has additional study tools such as highlighting, notetaking, reading the web, dictionary and thesaurus. - Ghost Reader allows the user to listen to text, Word, HTML, and PDF documents. It also converts documents to audio files for iPod or iPhone.
Digital Talking Book Readers
- Victor Reader Wave and Victor Reader Stream players allow users to listen to DAISY (Digital Talking Book format) books and MP3s. The Wave is a CD player for digital books.
- Maestro PDA and GPS device ("Trekker") with speech output provides blind users with a handheld PDA device that includes a DAISY book player.
