ATS has been asked to help design a chicken coop heater as winters in Lesotho may reach minus two degrees Centigrade. Chickens do not produce an optimal amount of eggs when operating at such low temperatures, decreasing the output of local poultry farmers.

This technology would be marketed to commercial chicken producers to allow them to increase chicken egg-laying performance in the winter months.

  • Must be powered by non-grid energy source
  • Must not be a fire / safety hazard
  • Should heat coop to approximately thirty degrees Centigrade
