interested in international development?want to apply your skills to help solve simple and complex problems?
welcome to the MIT-ATS online collaboration project...
what: |
An online means of communication
between ATS engineers and MIT students and staff. This site
is meant as online tool to be utilized by students interested
in applying their skills to real-world problems
and by staff wanting to seek practical examples to reinforce
theoretical knowledge. The end goal is to foster collaboration
between MIT and ATS, allowing joint implementation of solutions
to challenges being faced in Lesotho. |
why: |
With an increasing focus on development and globalization, it is hoped that this site will allow educators to seek out more practical, real-world examples for classroom projects. In addition, Lesotho professionals will be able to communicate with the students who are working on these projects in the United States in a cheaper, documentable fashion. |
who: |
Anyone and everyone who has access to the Internet is welcome to get involved with this project. The main focus is on connecting engineers and other technical professionals in Lesotho with students and educators at MIT, but the discussion forum is open to all. (NOTE: Project posting is currently restricted to certain administrators. If you have a project in Lesotho and would like it posted, please send a brief project description and contact information to mit_ats@MIT.edu.) |
