Advisory Services
Advisory services are non-attestation engagements designed to assist management’s decision-making process and complement other work of the Audit Division. Contract reviews (e.g., capital construction) and compliance with respect to research administration (i.e., RACP) dominate these efforts. These engagements present an opportunity for Audit to be informally involved with Institute projects to provide management with advice and guidance on strong Institute controls.
Advisory engagements often conclude with the issuance of a report or memorandum to stakeholders describing procedures followed and related results, if relevant. In recent years, these reviews have consumed an increasingly substantial amount of person hours as the Audit Division has promoted the theme of “management partnership.”
