Term Project
Description: In ASPIE we will be engineering underwater Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs)! The robot kit and instructions are based on the MIT Discover Ocean Engineering Sea Perch. The ASPIE robot has the added features of an underwater camera, underwater lights, and up to 5 motors. Students should follow the fabrication steps presented in the Sea Perch manual (below), but use the supplemental guides for the appropriate sections. Although the fabrication steps of different modules are spelled out in the manual, the design of the robot (including the frame layout, number of thrusters, control box layout, and object retrieval mechanism) is completely up to the student.
