MIT PROM VAULT
- the greatest competition ever created -
Sat.,
August 20th, 2011, 5pm (4pm Registration and Warmups)
www.mitpromvault.com preregister here
Please come at
4:00pm to start registering, modifying your clothing for
maximum vaulting comfort, and warming up. 5pm will be
the meet. Look below for new announcements.
Please
visit the website above for all the details and some great
videos. Here are the basics. MIT Pole Vault Club is hosting
another prom vault. So once again, get your dress clothes
on, grab a date, and head on over. This event will probably
be the greatest thing that has ever happened. EVER. The last
one was good. But man, this is going to be great. $20 for
students. $25 for open division.
We REALLY want to do it outside
and at night, we are going to opt for a evening vault (there
are HUGE lights for when the sun finally goes down), and we
will have a rain location of the indoor track. So the competition is on rain or shine.
Note: If you are
planning to come, please go here here to preregister. Doing so will make planning the event much easier
on us.
Addition:
We have a few awesome announcements:
1) MIT Prom Vault
is being sponsored by MF Athletic!
Each member of the first, second, and third place couples
will receive prizes. Visit them
by clicking here
or on their logo. Many thanks to MF Athletic.
First: Each
person receives $25 MF gift certificate and MF Athletic
T-Shirt
Second: Each
person receives $15 MF gift certificate and MF Athletic
T-Shirt
Third: Each
person receives $10 MF gift certificate and MF Athletic
T-Shirt
2) We will have a live DJ to
play while we are jumping. We'll also set up
a dance floor for you to show
off your steps between jumps.
3) We will have
a station set up to take prom pictures
of you and your date. Make sure you wear something nice and
tidy up your hair. Your parents will want a lot of copies
of these photographs.
4) We will have
some light refreshments
for you to hydrate and then dehydrate yourself.

2009:

Ready to test
out your vault skills? Ready to see all the hard work pay
off? MIT Pole Vault Club has three meets in August to help
out.
NOTE:
No pre-registration for the meets is required. However,
letting us know that you plan to come would help us out
so we can better plan for the event. If you plan to attend
a meet, please shoot a quick email to <barragan
at mit dot edu>.
A
quick planning-to-attend email is especially helpful if
you plan to come to the prom vault. First, we are organizing
some things around the number of entries. Second, we would
like to make sure everyone has a date. If you plan to attend
the Prom Vault, please email <entries at MITpromvault
dot com>.
All
meets are USATF sanctioned. For insurance reasons, USATF
membership is required. Membership can be obtained here.
All participants must sign liability waivers which will
be available at the meet or here: Registration
Form and Supplemental
Form. If you have already filled out a form at one of
our meets, you can simply resign it at the meet instead
of filling out a new one.
The
meets will be held at the MIT
outdoor track. Directions can be found here.
Meet 1 (Saturday,
August 8th, 12pm):
First of two smaller
meets leading up to the 2009 MIT Prom Vault. Everyone is welcome.
We will be starting warm ups on the pit at 11:30am. Jumping
will start at 12pm. $10 for MITPVC club members. $15 for non-club
members. (Rain location: MIT indoor track)

Meet 2 (Saturday,
August 22nd, 1pm):
Second of two
smaller meets leading up to the 2009 MIT Prom Vault. Everyone
is welcome. We will be starting warm ups on the pit between
12:00pm and 12:30pm. Jumping will start at 1pm. $10 for MITPVC
club members. $15 for non-club members. (No rain location,
sorry)
ADDITION: USATF
New England that we host this meet as a club-scored meet.
We will score men's and women's separately and combined. For
each gender, we will add the heights of the top two vaulters
from each club and then compare the sums. We will also compare
both genders combined for each club. There will be some refreshments
and awards and possibly videotaping.
NOTE: If you do
not have a club to compete for, you can still compete as a
regular competitor. Your heights will still be recorded and
reported in the results. However, you will not receive a place
in the club scoring. Everyone is still welcome to come and
compete.
