Lyric
baritone Barratt Park is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts,
where he attends graduate school at MIT. Mr. Park's recent
operatic
appearances include Ping in Lowell House Opera’s Turandot and Figaro in scenes from Il Barbiere di Siviglia, as part of
Boston Opera Collaborative's original adaptation The Countess of Seville. Also
a fan of light opera, Barratt serves as president of MIT’s Gilbert and
Sullivan Players, where he has appeared in Princess Ida (Florian), HMS Pinafore (Captain Corcoran), Cox and Box (Cox) and will be seen
this spring in Ruddigore
(Despard). As an Emerson Voice Scholar at MIT, he performs with
the
MIT Chamber Music Society and has appeared as a soloist with the MIT
Chamber Choir. Upcoming appearances include Alidoro in La Cenerentola with Opera del West
at the Natick, MA, Center for the Arts on August 10 and Spinelloccio in
Gianni Schicchi with the
Boston Opera Collaborative on October 24-25 at Christ the King Church
in Cambridge, MA. Barratt will also appear with the Paul Madore
Chorale on August 18th as the baritone soloist for Carmina Burana. Mr. Park is a
graduate of Davidson College, where
he
studied with Diane Thornton. He now studies with Donald
Wilkinson.
