Andrew Tsai is one of seven returning players on this year's team. Last year, he started 23 out of 25 games, averaging 5 points and 15 minutes per game.

Tsai came to MIT from Fox Chapel Area High School in Pittsburgh, PA, where he was a captain and three-year member of both the varsity soccer and basketball teams. For soccer under head coach Mark Perry, he was a starter on the WPIAL Finalist team his junior year and an all-section center-midfielder, WPSCA All-Star, and team MVP his senior year. For basketball under head coach Harry Jenkins, he was a member of a WPIAL Finalist team his sophomore year before becoming a full-time starter his junior year. As a captain his senior year, he averaged 17 points per game earning him a spot in the Cager Classic and Pittsburgh Hoops Classic All-Star Games. For all of his efforts, he received the WPIAL Scholar/Athlete Award and the Terry Tarasi Foundation Scholarship for leadership (soccer).

Andrew's parents, Yih-Wan and Wun-Yun, are originally from Taiwan and have been active supporters throughout his life. He also has an older brother Albert, 30 years old, who lives in Chicago and develops software for major collegiate, NHL, NBA, and NFL teams. Andrew is also the proud uncle of 1 year old "Baby Drew" who is also a big Steeler fan just like his uncle. When Andrew is not playing basketball or watching the Steelers, he enjoys watching other sports, NFL Primetime, playing video games, golfing, and sleeping in.
