The Kanwisher lab is looking for a new research assistant

We're looking for a new research assistant/lab manager.

Want to join the Kanwisher lab? Have a serious interest in high-level vision, cognitive science, and cognitive neuroscience? Want to learn more, to develop your skills, and to contribute to a fun and fast-paced research environment? We're looking for a new technical assistant to help conduct research. You would participate in all parts of the research process -- designing, coding, running, and analyzing behavioral, fMRI, and TMS experiments. You would work with children, adults, and special populations (e.g., populations with autism) to help better understand the architecture of the human mind. You would work a lot and learn a lot. In addition to the research responsiblities described above, there would also be some lab managing duties.

Candidates must have ALL of the following: i) strong math, statistics, and computer skills (e.g., MATLAB, Python, shell scripting), ii) substantial programming experience, iii) Mac and Windows troubleshooting skills and comfort in a Linux/Unix environment, iv) a Bachelor's degree in cognitive science, neuroscience, computer science, engineering, psychology, or math, and v) evidence of serious interest in a career in cognitive neuroscience. Applicants must get along well with others, interact well with children and their parents, be organized, self-motivated, independent, reliable, and able to multitask efficiently in a fast- paced environment. In addition, prior research experience in cognitive neuroscience would be helpful, and prior experience conducting and/or or analyzing fMRI experiments and/or anatomical MRI studies would be very helpful.

The job would start in the summer of 2013.
