N. Intermediate Level Vision
The
perception of subjective contours is even more dramatic in Figure
72 where on the left a three dimensional cube can readily
be seen even though most of the contours are missing. On the right the
same figure is shown but now with the inducing elements near isoluminance;
in the absence of luminance cues it is much harder to perceive subjective
contours.
