Set up this display to have the white bars measure 5mm in diameter as indicated at the bottom left of the grid. Then view the grid at arm's length (57.3cm) and fixate on the cross in the center. Under these conditions 1 cm = 1 degree visual angle and the distribution of retinal ganglion cells is as indicated in the region circled.
