The Neural Control of Visually Guided Eye Movements
C. Cortical Mechanisms of Visually Guided Saccadic Eye Movements

What are the functions of the various areas identified in the generation of visually guided eye movements? To determine this we used several methods, such as single-cell recordings, microstimulation, lesions, and pharmacological manipulations. Monkeys in these studies were trained on several tasks that involved making eye movements to visual targets.
