B. The visual percept elicited by electrical stimulation of area V1

If one wishes to determine what the nature is of the visual percept electrical stimulation of area V1 elicits in an animal, one needs, of course, to develop non-verbal behavioral methods. Several of these are available. Here we describe one of these methods to which we refer as the paired target task. This task has been described previously in the section on eye-movements in Figure 12.
