Hello, and welcome to my home page. On this page, you can find links to my Vitae, reprints of my published articles, some working papers, and various sundries. I update this page occasionally, so please check back soon. I am a Professor of Political Science at MIT. I study the political behavior of ordinary citizens. While I am primarily concerned with questions of representation and the communication of public sentiment to political elites, I have also studied public opinion and foreign policy, the continuing power of group-based stereotypes, the effect of voting reforms, and the power of the media.
