Dear Friends,

You may have read about the successful recent conference on higher education reform in Pakistan (see In the Media) held in Boston. The conference included 5 members of the newly appointed Pakistan Higher Education Reform Steering Committee, Vice Chancellors of Karachi and Peshawar universities, govt. ministers, professors and other professionals.

As a follow-on to that meeting, we are compiling a list of all faculty (and researchers) in US and Canadian universities and colleges who hail from Pakistan. Can you send us names and university affiliations of any Pakistani-origin faculty members in the US and Canada you know of? We can then compile detailed faculty profiles from their University web sites.  We, The Boston Group, a virtual network of Pakistani academics and professionals, hope to facilitate links between any interested US-based faculty and Pakistani institutions to help raise the standard of teaching, curriculum and research in Pakistan. We are already actively working with the Steering Committee and a number of Pakistani university heads on overcoming obstacles to such collaboration.

This is a good cause and we hope you can help. Any names would be appreciated. If you have a broader interest in this area let us also know and we can contact you as this process moves forward.

With best wishes,
The Boston Group
