Biodiesel@MIT is a group of MIT students, faculty, and staff who have worked over the past few years to install a biodiesel processor on the MIT campus as part of the MIT Energy Initiative. The processor converts waste vegetable oil from campus dining facilities into biodiesel to be mixed with regular diesel fuel and used in the institute's diesel-powered Tech Shuttles and campus equipment.

Biodiesel on Campus!

After finally meeting ASTM standards, our biodiesel is now running in MIT's lawn equipment. This past week, Biodiesel@MIT provided campus facilities with enough B100 to blend 110 gallons of B10. Our biodiesel is finally on campus, and MIT is now using B10 instead of B5!
