The Sinskey Lab is a participant in the Malaysia-MIT Biotechnology Partnership Programme (MMBPP), an interdisciplinary, intercontinental collaboration funded by the Malaysian government. The director of the MMBPP at MIT is Professor ChoKyun Rha.

There are two large research programs (each with subprograms) in the MMBPP: natural product discovery and oil palm biotechnology.
