Graduate Stipend
All graduate students receive a full-tuition grant and 12-month
stipend, ($27,400 in 2006-07) which permits comfortable (although perhaps
not luxurious) living in the Cambridge/Boston area.
Graduate Fellowships
Applicants are also encouraged to apply for graduate fellowships
from organizations such as the National Insitutes of Health through their new website, Grants.gov; the National
Science Foundation; and the Office
of Naval Research. The MIT Graduate Students Office also has information on a large number of external fellowhip opportunities.
The Center for Cancer Research is also offering graduate fellowships from three sources this year, to students whose research is in the broad area of cancer research. These are the Koch Fellowship; the Ludwig Research Fund; and the Anna Fuller Fund which specifically supports graduate students working in the field of Molecular Oncology. For more information and applications, contact Pamela DiFraia in CCR HQ, E17-110. Applications for academic year 2006-07 are closed now; contact CCR for information on next year's fellowhips.
