The MITG&SP costume stock has been steadily increasing, threatening to take over most of the office space we share with Concert Band. In an attempt to make more efficient use of our office space and enable other theater groups to more easily borrow from our stock, a costume loft was commissioned by the Executive Committee.
The loft will be 8 feet long, 6 feet wide, and 8 feet tall. The estimated total cost is $400.
There will be two levels. The upper level will hold shorter costumes, such as shirts, jackets, pants, etc. The lower level will hold longer costumes, such as dresses, kimonos, etc. A shelf on the left side will store and display wigs and hats.
A portable clothing rack will be kept under the loft. While in the office, it will hold costumes for the current production, and be used to move costumes to Sala during prod week.
The Closet, head-on. There are two poles on each side, running into the plane of page. There is one pole along the back wall. Note that there isn't a large cross bar in the back. I'm not sure how I ought to brace that side.

The loft from the left. I'm not sure if any of the bracing is structurally sound. The wig shelf will have a series of styrofoam heads mounted on it so that the very fussy wigs can be stored properly. I may attach a hinged 3' x 8' piece of plywood (covered by a cutting mat) three feet off the ground, below the wig shelf. That would make for a nice instant workspace.

The loft from above. The poles that were described as running into the page in the first figure are seen running vertically here. There are two poles on each side, one on top of the other. The top pole will be the short-clothes tier, and the bottom pole will be the long-clothes tier. There is only one long-clothes pole along the back wall.
