Ferromagnetic Shape Memory Alloys
A Multi-University Research Initiative sponsored by Office of Naval Research

Office of Naval Research (ONR) has awarded a five-year Multi-University Research Initiative (MURI) contract, starting May 1, 2001, to a consortium of five universities led by MIT. The purpose of this research program is to develop ferromagnetic shape memory alloys (FSMAs) hybridized with other active materials, such as piezoelectrics and magnetostricitves, for possible use in Navy and other applications.
