Fez Skirt
A lace skirt for a fez. I cobbled the pattern together from a spiral doily (top) and a shawl edging (sides), and am quite pleased with how it turned out.
|
Fez Tassel
An alternate tassel for the fez, from a lace scarf pattern.

Brown-Shaded Shawl
My very first mystery knit-along! The clues appear one at a time and everyone knits together.
|
Brown-Shaded Shawl
It's a thicker softer silk than most of the other shawls I've made.

Tiong Bahru
This is probably the best picture to capture the coppery color - it's a Madeline Tosh silk yarn, and in bright sunlight it gleams like copper wire. That makes the gear-like lace look like copper clockwork to me, so that's what I call the shawl.

Outside
Better light, but it's overcast and there's no shine, so it looks more like brick than copper. It's all about the shine. :) (Don't worry, I won't actually wear it with the jacket, I bought a black dress specifically to go with!)

Ishbel
Made in color-changing cotton, "Summer Lily" colors. (Four thin strands, swapping out one strand of color at a time). For Isabelle.

Lyra
The pattern is a much beloved one by Herbert Niebling, reprinted recently after the magazine that had it had started to sell for $50 on eBay. The yarn is Sundara Silk Lace (Copper over Bamboo). I spent a lot of bus time in Turkey working on it, and ended up thinking of it as Pomegranate Lace.
