Blocked and Unpinned
I love blocking wool. It stays where it's supposed to go. Mike asked for me to put a ruler in for scale; I don't have a ruler, so I have added a stuffed platypus, a toy cow, and a feather pen for scale.
Binding off
It still looks like a lace sack.
Spread out
Binding off is finished; this is the first time you can really see what it looks like
Pinning
Every other set of leaves is pinned down. This is close to the final size
Pinning
Every set of leaves is pinned down
Outer Edge Pinned
Every other chain loop (the closest ones have every loop) is pinned out; this is full size. When I have more pins, I'll pin out the rest of the chain loops.
Closeup
The central rose is the best part. It's a little uneven, because the middle of round lace is the hardest part.
Second Rose
Not yet blocked. It's cotton, and a bit thicker.
Second Rose, blocked
Compare this to the first one, blocked on the same sheet; it's quite a bit larger
Second Rose, close up
I had worried that the heavier yarn would make it look less lacy. I needn't have worried.
