Duet socks
I'm fond of this yarn, which is a multicolor (well, gray in this case) main color with a contrasting color for heel and toe. I am less sure I like the afterthought heel; due to the way knitting works, it's ever so slightly off-center. But, mostly, I think I like traditional heel flap socks best, because then you can do a reinforced heel with something like eye-of-partridge stitch - I certainly wear out my heels before anything else.
