Cider Press
A general overview. This is the best view of the long levers to squeeze the press down, and some test cider, modelled by Jerry.
Apple Washing
Two bins of apple in water to briefly wash the dirt off
Bins and Grinder
Grownups were in charge of rinsing (as that was not much fun) but little kids get to fling the apples from the clean bin into the grinder.
Processing
Grinder and Press
Isabelle in the apple-moving area; Jerry turning the press.

Pressing
Press, Side View
A wooden barrel with a screw-down top and a detachable bottom rack as well. Squish the ground apples and press the cider out!

Cider running
Post-press apples
If there were pigs, these would be good to feed them to.
Straining
It's not filtered very much, but enough to get any bits of twig or leaf that made it in.
Potluck lunch afterwards
The back yard looks particularly farmlike
Dirt Pile
Due to the construction, there is this dirt pile beside the house that is a favorite for kids to play on
Octopus!
This was my contribution to the fire pit, cast in concrete

Sonoma County Fair: Floral Reef
The undersea garden. The hanging plants and succulents made it look surprisingly much underwater.
Wonderland Tea Party
There's a teapot-stack fountain, a little hard to make out.
Wonderland flowers
Maybe less clearly themed, but still lovely.
Sonoma County Fair: Floral quilt
In the Craft hall
Best use of color
Quilts where the color and line cross like this are magic to me.

Conservatory of Flowers
The actual conservatory was closed; this was the zinnia garden outside.

Golden Gate Park: Lily Pond
I was a little disappointed in the pond-ness here.
