Dollar Bill Birdbath
There was a whole collection of dollar bill origami, but this was my favorite
Nazgul
This one is by Jason Ku, an MIT student. (Several of the artists in the collection were from MIT).
Self-Made Man
Possibly the cutest of the collection.
Attack of the Kraken
This is gorgeous. It's also interesting in that it's designed to be viewed from this side (the other side is sort of hollow-looking), but you could walk around it.
Folding Chart
for Attack of the Kraken
Alligator
Pangolin
This and the Alligator were by the same person. The're folded from 6-foot square paper.
Rose
The rose is from one square; one corner is red.
Millipede
(two sheets) This supposedly set a record for the number of legs on an origami figure
Our Skunks
We learned how to make skunks.
New Ways on Banquereau
(by Thomas Hoyne). I really love this painting. The combination of the mist and the reflections and the light. It's one of the things I remember most clearly from the last time I visited the PEM, which was something like ten years ago.
Standard netsuke
This is mostly in contrast to the next one...
Netsuke of alien abduction
Crazily complex ivory carving
There are fifteen layers of ivory spheres in here. This is part of the "stuff made to be sold to Westerners" exhibit, which has the most impressive craftwork.
Moon bed
I want one of these!
