Nourishment and Nurture of the Tree of Life

Need not be a man. Animals acceptable, but have lesser spiritual power. Must be mammal. Boils down to hit points plus power. Take a man, in the prime of his life, and with great spiritual strength, for of the greatest life is the greatest Tree grown. At sunset, begin the surgery, first skin and then flesh, down to bone.

[Complicated surgical diagram - the limbs are peeled and flesh folded outwards and further along in the direction of the limbs. Sort of like a star, or a flower...]

Take great care that the subject does not die, for if your Tree be dead, it shall grant you no life. Basically, if the subject dies, you know you've done it wrong. Otherwise, it's miraculous how it continues to live.
When you have reached the bone in all branches of your Tree, feed one drop of your own blood to each branch, that it may take root, and exert your will and power upon each limb and the heart of the tree, for two beats of your heart for each branch, and three for the Heart. (One heart beat, one magic point)
Grow then the Tree, until it reach full health and vigor, feeding well upon your blood, for only of your blood may its blood thrive. When it has reached full health, it shall bear a Fruit, which you shall eat thereof, now and each time the Fruit is borne. Let not the Tree wither or fade, for with it shall go your Life as well.
With a sufficiently strong subject, the protected can regenerate from even decapitation and dismemberment. Once the Fruit of the Tree is in your blood, then shall your own flesh be linked, and your flesh be protected by the health of the Tree. Even the most grievous of wounds can be sustained and healed, for the Tree in its prime is greater than any one man.
The Protection of the Fruit of the Tree may be extended to other Children, most powerfully by sharing of the Fruit, but in the dire of times, by sharing of the Blood of he who has grown the Tree. Better protection is obtained by growing a Tree with multiple casters, but the protection for any one of them is less than the sole grower of a Tree.
